Creating eye-catching images is not as hard as it used to be. One of the easiest and most effective ways to create visuals is to use an online tool called Canva. What is Canva?

Canva is an easy-to-use app created with enough features and functionality that almost anyone can create a wide variety of engaging content. Initially you’ll be able to use Canva as a one-stop-shop that will help you to produce engaging, visually compelling content consistently and that’s should be your goal if you’re a digital marketer. The primary way to use Canva for business is to create and publish engaging content that will attract your targeted prospects both online and off, so let’s take a look at the steps necessary to create an image to use, let’s say, as a blog image and a Facebook post.First, simply navigate to Canva.com. Once there, you'll be greeted with a page asking you to sign up. It's a simple and straightforward process, plus, it's FREE! Once you sign up and log in, you can start creating your images. You can choose a wide variety of visual content such as, Facebook posts, documents, cards, marketing materials, ads, even blogging and ebook content. Simply choose which type of content you would like to make.

Simply click the type of content you want to create and the designer window will open up. Once the window opens, you'll be presented with a blank canvas to start your creation.

If you scroll through all the tabs on the left, you can see all of Canva's Free, pre-designed layouts. Or, if you like, you can start your own from scratch. Canva makes designing easy as everything is drag-and-drop. Once you find a design that you like, just drag it onto the blank, white canvas.

Then click to text to make it your own. And you can change the font, color and size and location of the text. Again, Canva has tons of free built-in features that makes customizing images for your needs.

Once you have your image the way you want, simply click the "Download" button in the upper right. You have a few different format options to chose from so it's right for your project. When you chose your format, the file will download to your computer and you are free to use it however you see fit.

Now, let's say you don't want to use one of Canva's pre-designed images. Well, you can also create your own beautiful images from scratch.If you click on the "Text" tab, you can see a bunch of text elements. Then just drag and drop the pre-designed text image onto the blank canvas. You can click any text and replace it with your own.

Once you have the correct text in place, you can also change the color, font, and size by clicking the text elements near the top of the window.

Once you have your text looking the way you want, you can either drag-and-drop one of the pre-built in backgrounds or add your own. If you want to use your own image, just drag it onto the canvas. Then to get the image behind your text, you can click the "Arrange" button in the upper right and click "back".

From here, you stylize your photo to better match your text. With the image still selected, click "filter" near the top center of the window. Then just click the different filters to see how they effect your image. Also, you can even modify the filter by selecting "Advanced Options".

When you're happy with it, click the "Download" button like you did before. And Poof! You have a eye-catching image that you can use on social media, your blog, in newsletters, even in print materials. Canva really does make it easy to crate stunning visual images.
